The World Rehabilitation Fund (WRF) has recently launched an orthotic/prosthetic aid initiative in Kazakhstan, according to Anthony Staros, WRF senior consultant. “New possibilities exist for WRF, not only in the traditional geographic areas of its past international P&O programs, but also in new undertakings in Central Asian countries,” Staros said. Training P&O service providers and setting up workshops and component manufacturers has been part of WRF’s traditional role in Armenia, Lebanon, Honduras, and Uganda, he noted.
