The American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics (the Academy) will recognize members of the O&P profession this week for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the field.
Winners include:
Titus Ferguson Award: Scott D. Cummings, PT, CPO, FAAOP
This lifetime achievement award is intended to be the highest level of recognition bestowed to an outstanding academician whose accomplishments and contributions have made a significant impact on the growth and development of the profession.
Distinguished Practitioner Award: Tracy Melton CPO/L, CPed, CFm
This award recognizes members who have distinguished themselves through their dedication and leadership to the advancement of the O&P profession. This individual must have demonstrated a record of sustained contributions and commitment to advancing the ideals of the Academy and the profession.
Clinical Creativity Award: Christopher Lake, CPO, FAAOP(D)
The award recognizes Academy members who have quietly demonstrated a commitment to its Code of Professional Responsibility and to improving the professional image of the O&P profession to patients, coworkers, and colleagues.
Clinical Commitment Award: Adrienne W. Hill, MHA, CPO(L), FAAOP
The award recognizes members who have quietly demonstrated a commitment to improving the professional image of the O&P profession to patients, coworkers, and colleagues.
Outstanding Educator Award: Ava S. Herbrick, MS, CPO
The award recognizes an educator who has demonstrated unique didactic or laboratory skills that create a positive and permanent impression on their students.
Research Award: Sara Morgan, PhD, CPO
The award recognizes those members performing the most outstanding research in the O&P field.
Andreas Kannenberg, MD (GER), PhD, and David C. Morgenroth, MD, were awarded honorary memberships that are given to individuals who are closely allied with the O&P profession.
