Click Medical, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, obtained a patent broadening its existing portfolio to include any prosthetic system that uses an actuator (motor, dial, buckle, etc.) to control movement within a socket. The company also secured patent coverage on any prosthetic system that uses a tensioning line that passes through the wall of a device. This includes both lanyard and adjustable sockets that are built via additive manufacturing, mass manufacturing, or custom fabrication.
In addition, Click patented the ability to mount actuators off the socket itself to remotely control socket adjustment. The new issued claims solidify Click Medical’s patent protection for adjustable prosthetic devices.
