Within education and health services, employee confidence fell 1.4 percentage points month over month, or 6.4 percentage points year over year. Hiring freezes and layoffs could be contributing to lower confidence among employees across industries, according to Glassdoor, but those issues may not be impacting O&P as strongly as in other health services. Would you expect O&P data to reflect the same result?
Without similar data specific to O&P, each facility or business should keep the lines of communication open and assure it has the pulse of its employees’ feelings, which can help the business run as smoothly as possible, even when facing challenges.
“With more layoffs in the headlines, job security remains top of mind for employees,” wrote Daniel Zhao, a lead economist at Glassdoor, in the analysis. “Another reason that employee confidence may be muted is that the hiring rate has dropped sharply over the last year. Hiring is one of the most visible indicators that employees have of a company’s business performance.”
Would this be useful data to collect for O&P? What could business owners and employees do with that information?
