For <i>The O&P EDGE, </i>this was especially true once people received their December 2008 issue, which focused on O&P education programs and the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE)-mandated entry-level master's degree in prosthetics and orthotics by 2010. You called, sent e-mails, or mailed letters telling us exactly where you stand on the issue. In addition, our monthly online reader's poll, which asked about the entry-level requirement, received more responses than any other poll we've run. Clearly there are strong opinions on both sides of this issue-one of which we highlight in this month's Perspective, "<a href="https://opedge.dev/3178">We Have Met the Enemy, and It Is Us!</a>." There are others who would like to continue the dialogue. Stay tuned. This month, we asked a panel of industry experts for their insights on what the future might hold for the O&P industry. The answer to the question, "What are the benefits of being a Medicare participating provider?" incorrectly stated that Medicare participating providers receive a 5 percent higher reimbursement than non-participating providers. Durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) suppliers are excluded from this. We deeply regret the error and any confusion or inconvenience it may have caused.
