Edward Lee Teter, CPO, 86, of Eden, Utah, formerly of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away on October 31 at his home in Eden.
Teter completed his education at Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center. His commitment to education and professional excellence led him to earn numerous additional certifications, including advanced credentials from New York University Medical School and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Teter founded Teter Orthotics and Prosthetics, Michigan, in 1975, and in the late 1980s began mentoring his son, Michael Teter, CPO, to assume and manage the family business. Michael Teter took over the business in 1991 and passed away in 2011.
As a person living with an amputation, Edward Lee Teter was an inspiration to the community through his active lifestyle and resilient spirit. He played an integral role in founding the Northern Michigan Adaptive Sports and Recreation and Ogden Valley Utah Adaptive Sports programs.
