Dear Editor,
We wanted to comment on the article titled, “Special Report: Covid-19 Impacts O&P Facilities, Distributors” in your April edition. We agree, the recent safety precautions recommended by the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have greatly impacted the way prosthetists need to provide prosthetic services to their patients. We wanted to bring to your attention that the iFIT Prosthesis could be a helpful product to bring prosthetics to patients in need during this time. It can be fit in a patient’s home, a hospital or nursing facility. While it still involves one-on-one interaction by the patient and prosthetist, the number of visits is greatly reduced.
We are unsure at this time how long these restrictions will last, especially for immune-compromised patients. Even when restrictions begin to lift, many will still need to use caution during the months following.
Kind regards,
Josh Mullins,
VP Business Development, iFIT Prosthetics
