
For 22 years I have opted to make custom-injected, molded inserts for my patients who wear transtibial prostheses instead of buying prefabricated inserts. As a business owner and from an economic standpoint, it may be considered foolish to do so because I can purchase a premade liner for less than it costs to fabricate a custom liner and multiple premade liners will be required over the life of a prosthesis.
