Martin Bionics, Oklahoma City, has been named to TIME magazine’s list of Best Inventions of 2020, for its Socket-less Socket, which uses lightweight conforming and breathable fabrics to provide a hammock-like socket fit. Martin Bionics is both a developer and clinical provider of advanced prosthetics technology. Jay Martin, CP, FAAOP, founder of Martin Bionics, has also worked with NASA to help create exoskeleton suits for space and military applications.
“The added recognition as a TIME Best Inventions 2020 recipient will help us to reach a larger segment of the population with limb loss experiencing socket discomfort from antiquated conventional sockets,” said Martin.
