Metacarpal, Scotland, hired Hugh Gill as its chief technology officer.
Gill, an engineer, has been recognized in the Scottish Engineering Hall of Fame, and will be bringing a new and disruptive technology to upper-limb prosthetics with Metacarpal, the company said.
“For the last 15 years, working with limb differences has been my purpose,” said Gill, who was the vice president of research and development, upper limb prosthetics at Össur.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be able to call Hugh my colleague. He is an absolute inspiration to myself and the team. To have this expertise gives Metacarpal another level from any of our competitors, a huge step forward for the company,” said Metacarpal’s CEO, Fergal Mackie.
