The National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) awarded the 2023 Larry Lange Travel Fellowship award to Erin Casey.
Casey is a second year O&P resident at Baylor College of Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation science from the University of Pittsburgh. She will use the award to attend the American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetists Annual Meeting & Scientific Symposium in Chicago next March and present her master’s research on effective methods of patient education.
She plans to use the remaining funds to attend a Range of Motion Project (ROMP) service trip. In her future career, Casey will continue research in patient education and thanked the faculty at Baylor and her preceptors for their support and mentorship, according to the NCOPE website.
