Technology will be the focus of the 14th Biannual Conference of the Canadian Association of Prosthetists & Orthotists (CAPO) July 21-24 in Ottawa, Ontario. More than 250 delegates will attend sessions exploring the theme: "Capital Technology: Technological Advances in Prosthetics and Orthotics." "We have assembled an impressive early slate of speakers, including Jan Ertl, MD; Robert Gailey, PhD, PT; Eva Haggstrom, CPO; Anne Hollister, MD; Kellie Leitch, MD; Chris Morris, MSc, CPO; and Marlo Ortiz, CP," said Craig Smith, BSc, CP (c), CAPO Conference Organizing Committee . Ertl will speak on the Ertl amputation procedure; Gailey will discuss functional measures in prosthetics and the active lower-limb amputee; Haggstrom's subject will be osseointegration techniques in Sweden; and Hollister will cover joint biomechanics. Leitch will discuss effective lobbying; Morris will explore orthotic research and cerebral palsy treatment; and Ortiz will explain the MAS above-knee socket design.
