Ossur, Reykjavik, Iceland, announced July 28, 2005, that after
finalizing due diligence, it has agreed to acquire orthotics
manufacturer Royce Medical Holding Inc, of Camarillo, California,
in a transaction valued at approximately $216 million. The
transaction is expected to close in August 2005 and is subject to
US regulatory approvals. This is Ossur’s largest acquisition to
date, and is in line with Ossur’s strategic growth plans of
increased focus on the orthotics industry while maintaining its
strong position in the prosthetics market.
