Hoover Resigns from DMERC Region D

Robert Hoover, MD, has resigned from his position as the DMERC Region D medical director, CIGNA Government Services announced.

"In his seven years with CIGNA Government Services, Dr. Hoover has made a significant contribution to the development of Durable Medical Equipment national policy for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)," stated Cigna. "CIGNA Government Services has benefited greatly from his experience and his passion for excellence and innovation."

A search is underway to fill the position. In the interim, Donald Norris, MD, is assuming DMERC Region D responsibilities in addition to his current role as Part B Idaho medical director, according to CIGNA.

Hoover has joined Sunrise Medical, Carlsbad, California, as senior vice president of global clinical services. "In this position, Dr. Hoover will use his knowledge of the medical field and relationships with medical professionals to develop medical products and assistive technology devices based on scientific research and clinical outcomes," Sunrise Medical said.
