Two-time triathlon world champion Matt Perkins has captured the
title a third time, dominating the unilateral transtibial category
at the Vancouver Triathlon World Championships, June 7. He placed
16th overall in a competition led by Andreas Kuebler of Germany, a
competitor in the unilateral arm amputation or paralysis category.
Perkins took the Olympic-length course in just over two hours and
38 minutes, finishing the swim in fourth place within his group,
then sweeping the biking and running courses, crossing the finish
line almost 11 minutes ahead of Jonathan Bik of Sacramento,
California, his nearest category rival.
