Messer Orthopedics, Grand Rapids, Michigan, has hired Gerald
Lunsford, CO, as its director of orthotics. Lunsford graduated from
Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, with a bachelor of science
degree in 1992 and went on to the Northwestern University
Prosthetics-Orthotics Center (NUPOC), Chicago, Illinois, where he
completed his certification in orthotics in 1996. He received his
ABC certification in 1998 and worked in the Chicago metropolitan
area for six years, concentrating in wound management and
pediatrics. In 2002, Lunsford moved to southwest Michigan, where he
directed the orthotics and prosthetics clinic department at Hackley
Hospital, Muskegon. There, he practiced all aspects of orthotic
management, from trauma to acute and chronic conditions. He is
described by Messer as passionate about positive outcomes and
patient satisfaction, getting “the most joy in seeing his patients
achieve their maximum potential and becoming more independent.”
