The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics
& Pedorthics (ABC) has announced that it is seeking nominees
for three positions on its board of directors. Two of the positions
are reserved for ABC-certified orthotists, prosthetists, or
pedorthists who have a record of volunteer involvement with the
organization or with the former Board for Certification in
Pedorthics (BCP). The third position is that of Public Member
Director, who will represent the interests of consumers, patients,
and other public groups. Each position requires a four-year
commitment that begins December 1, 2009. The new board members will
have full voting privileges and will participate in overseeing the
general management of ABC’s affairs, including its budgetary
matters, governance, and policy development. The deadline for
nominations is Monday, June 1.
