The Clinical Content Committee of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy)
has extended the deadline for abstracts for the 2010 Academy annual meeting, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Illinois, March 24-27, 2010. The abstract submission deadline is now Friday, August 14.
The clinical content committee will select the 2010 Thranhardt finalists and free-paper presentations. It will review all abstracts as potential Howard R. Thranhardt Lectures unless the author or authors designate that they do not want their paper considered. Thranhardt presentations will be given at the annual meeting. Two $500 honoraria will be awarded to the two best presentations selected. Thranhardt Lecture presentations are 20 minutes in length.
Free-paper submissions should offer solutions to common problems, patient and practice-management techniques, innovative uses of technology, or current research findings. The content and/or presentation of the information will promote quality or improvements in orthotic or prosthetic care. Free-paper presentations are 12 minutes in length.
Poster presentations provide a forum for a one-to-one, in-depth discussion using narrative and visual material to display and communicate the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of a specific research study or illustrate a piece of equipment, technique, program, etc.
