Orthocare Innovations, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has appointed Adam Arabian, PhD, as research scientist. According to Orthocare, Arabian brings more than 10 years of experience as a research and development engineer for a broad range of technologies, most recently with the Institute for Bioengineering at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab (JHUAPL). In this position, he directed activities that included more than 40 members from international academia, industry, and government in the development of advanced prosthetic-limb technology for military personnel.
Arabian holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana; a master of science degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing; and a doctorate from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. All three degrees are in mechanical engineering. He also holds a post-master’s advanced certificate in applied biomedical engineering from JHU. He has authored and coauthored publications for refereed journals and has presented research findings at international conferences. He holds several patents and has several patents pending in his areas of expertise. He also serves as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
