The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that it will host a Special Open Door Forum (ODF) on February 17 titled “Medicare Provider & Supplier Enrollment” to discuss Medicare provider enrollment issues. During the call, CMS staff will discuss the following topics:
- Internet-based Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS) for physicians, non-physician practitioners, and provider and supplier organizations.
- Provider and supplier reporting responsibilities.
- Medicare ordering and referring issues.
- Revalidation efforts.
CMS stated that capacity is limited, so those wishing to participate should dial in early; the call will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. EST, and the line to dial in will open at 1:45 p.m. After the ODF ends, the public will have an opportunity to ask questions.
