D. Scott Williamson Jr., CAE, has been named the new president of Quality Outcomes, Fredericksburg, Virginia, a company that specializes in documenting healthcare outcomes for users of prosthetics, orthotics, and durable medical equipment. The company also assists clients in attaining facility accreditation and in developing and implementing workflow processes and patient satisfaction surveys.
According to Quality Outcomes, as president Williamson is responsible for the company’s comprehensive performance management program, a process that identifies best practices in patient care and meets the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Performance Management requirements for accreditation. Williamson is an active member of the Healthcare Community Committee of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and prior to joining Quality Outcomes, he was the director of facility accreditation at the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC). He has worked with professional certification programs since 1990 and has been a key liaison between the orthotic and prosthetic profession and CMS during the development of the CMS mandatory accreditation program for suppliers of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS).
Williamson received his master of business administration degree from the University of Richmond Robins School of Business, Virginia, and an undergraduate degree in management economics from Hampden-Sydney College, Virginia. In 2005, he earned his Certified Association Executive credentials from ASAE.
