Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, headquartered in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, has created three jobs between its Pennsylvania offices in York and Exton.
Ability has appointed Sarah Wooden, CPO, as managing practitioner of its newly opened York patient care center. According to Ability, Wooden is a graduate of the Newington Certificate Program, Connecticut, and brings more than ten years of clinical expertise to Ability.
“Sarah understands and possesses the skills necessary to manage an orthotic and prosthetic office in a rapidly evolving healthcare market,” explained Jeffrey Brandt, CPO, Ability’s CEO.
Ability hired Thomas Martin, BOCO, to perform office administration duties for its York facility while he pursues his prosthetics education at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois.
“Tom has a great foundation upon which to build a very successful career in O&P,” Brandt said. “Upon completion of his schooling, he’ll be returning to Ability for a residency and then opening and managing his own Ability patient care center.”
Taffy Bowman, CPO, will join the staff at Ability’s Exton facility in April 2010. Bowman, a graduate of Northwestern’s O&P programs, brings more than ten years of experience to Ability.
“Taffy has worked for a large orthotics and prosthetics provider, as well as for a manufacturer,” Brandt concluded. “This offers a unique blending of skills that will be a welcome addition to the Ability team.”
