The Amputee Coalition is now accepting applications for the third annual Christina Skoski, MD, Scholarship. The one-time, $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student with congenital limb loss or limb difference who displays a special desire to learn and exhibits potential for success.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate students who will be entering or who are already attending a four-year college. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a congenital limb difference or an amputation and have a minimum high-school grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 and a minimum ACT score of 30 or SAT score of 1340. They must also submit a letter of recommendation from a high-school adviser. Additionally, the student or his or her parent/legal guardian must be a registered friend of the Amputee Coalition. All majors are welcome.
Applications will be accepted through online submission only. Application materials can be found on the Amputee Coalition website at amputee-coalition.org/scholarship/skoski. The application deadline for fall 2011 consideration is April 1, 2011. The scholarship recipient will be announced May 1, 2011.
