Lawrence “Larry” Rohling, CO, passed away on June 11, at his home in Leoma, Tennessee. He was 63.
Rohling was an orthotist at Shoals Orthotics & Prosthetics, Florence, Alabama, a practice he opened in 1990, and sold in 1994 to Alabama Orthotics & Prosthetics, headquartered in Huntsville-a company he had previously co-owned and worked at for many years. Rohling received his orthotics training at Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center (NUPOC), Chicago, Illinois. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
“Larry was well loved and respected by all of us, but he was especially dedicated to the young pediatric patients he worked with, and they were all just crazy about him,” said Jerry Swanson, CP, president of Alabama O&P. “He and I were friends and worked together for more than 30 years. I will miss him both professionally and personally.”
Rohling is survived by his wife Beth Chance Rohling; daughter Jamie Bedingfield; son Stuart Rohling; four grandchildren, Kaileigh, Skylaur, and Pazlie Bedingfield, and Kyla Rohling; brother William Rohling; and sisters Delores Elmy and Juanita McArthur.
