Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, headquartered in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, has appointed Eric Shoemaker, MS, CPO, to operate its Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, patient care office. He specializes in pediatric orthotics and upper-limb devices.
Shoemaker comes to Ability from the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), New York, where he completed his residency and most recently held the position of clinical coordinator.
Shoemaker graduated from the orthotic technician training program at Century College, White Bear Lake, Minnesota, in 1993. He earned his bachelor’s degree in O&P from the University of Texas Southwestern (UT Southwestern) Medical Center, Dallas, in 1999, and will graduate this year with a master’s of science degree in medical management from the University of Rochester’s Simon Graduate School of Business.
Mallory Feller has joined Ability’s Hagerstown, Maryland, patient care facility as a resident orthotist. She is attending the Northwestern University Prosthetic-Orthotic Center (NUPOC), Chicago, Illinois, prosthetics program, from which she plans to graduate in the fall.
Feller received her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), University Park, in 2009. She graduated from NUPOC’s orthotics program in 2011.
