OPIE Software, Gainesville, Florida, announced that it has formed a technology partnership with Quality Outcomes, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Through this partnership, Quality Outcomes’ patient outcome and patient satisfaction measurement tools will be integrated into the OPIE workflow process. This partnership became official on May 1, and integration efforts have been under way since that time.
According to Paul Prusakowski, CPO, FAAOP, CEO of OPIE Software, this technology partnership will further help OPIE Software users to meet the ever-increasing patient documentation requirements.
“The O&P profession is under increasing pressure to document and prove patient outcomes from the clinical care that is provided to patients,” Prusakowski said. “The need for a standardized, patient-outcome system has been discussed for quite some time….”
This partnership “creates a dramatic shift in the discussion about measuring patient satisfaction in the O&P clinical care profession,” said D. Scott Williamson, CAE, president of Quality Outcomes. “Taken individually, or even across a typical O&P practice, patient satisfaction surveys provide anecdotal evidence. But when administered consistently and collectively across a wide range of care settings, and nationwide, they provide a unique body of information that can begin to stimulate scientific investigation.”
