The Amputee Coalition has elected Michael Estrada, executive vice president new business initiatives, of THOR-LO, Statesville, North Carolina, to serve a three-year term on the organization’s board of directors, effective immediately.
Estrada has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He was appointed for two terms to the North Carolina Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health and served on the board of directors of Champs Sports, headquartered in Bradenton, Florida. Estrada also has a transtibial amputation.
“We are honored to welcome Michael, a strategic leader in the fields of footwear and apparel to serve on our board,” said Marshall Cohen, Amputee Coalition board of directors chair. “Michael brings a high level of marketing expertise and connections to the Amputee Coalition as well as strategic thinking in the area of partnership building. He most recently coordinated the collaboration of THOR-LO and the Institute of Preventive Foot Health in a partnership with the Amputee Coalition on our 2012 National Limb Loss Awareness Month. We look forward to having his continued input to advance awareness about our organization.”
