Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, headquartered in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, has appointed Scotti Sawyer as chief financial officer (CFO) and controller. She brings more than 25 years of accounting and finance experience to Ability.
Sawyer graduated from Temple University, Fox School of Business, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a bachelor of business administration degree in both accounting and economics. Her careers in finance and accounting began when she joined the Chase Manhattan Bank, New York, New York, Capital Markets Internal Audit group.
Several years later, Sawyer started her own consulting company, Castle Financial Consulting, Amber, Pennsylvania, which provided companies with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission support, restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions. In this role, one of her major clients was NovaCare Rehabilitation, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, which had more than 265 O&P acquisitions. She was responsible for integrating these acquisitions into NovaCare’s general ledger, which included the on-site evaluation of inventory and accounts receivable.
Susi Ebersbach, MT(ASCP), MBA, has joined Ability as an advanced billing and reimbursement specialist. She brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare management and marketing of ancillary health services with the majority of her experience focused on the O&P field.
She holds a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and a master’s of business administration from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio.
Prior to joining Ability, Ebersbach was employed as the director of reimbursement and compliance for Touch Bionics, Hilliard, Ohio, and provided reimbursement assistance, as well as compliance and credentialing guidance in that role. As a healthcare marketing and management professional, she also served as an independent consultant to healthcare clients in practice management, business development, marketing, and contracting activities.
