The Dralla Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Allard USA, Rockaway, New Jersey, has named James Button to its review board. The board is responsible for reviewing requests and selecting recipients for the grants that are awarded annually to “organizations who share [Dralla’s] mission to enrich the lives of adults and children with physical challenges.”
A lifelong running enthusiast who has competed in marathons for more than 30 years, Button became acquainted with Dralla and Allard USA last year. He used orthotic braces made by Allard to regain mobility after a chainsaw accident severed the peroneal nerve just below his left knee, leaving him with foot drop.
“After my accident, my choices were to either give up running or try to get up and run again,” Button said. “Allard’s braces made my choice to run possible. Working with Dralla to provide other challenged people with the opportunity to lead richer lives through independent mobility and healthful exercise is a rewarding endeavor I’m looking forward to.”
