Allard USA, Rockaway, New Jersey, has announced the launch of what it says is the first national team for people with foot drop. TeamUP is composed of eight men and women who have paralysis in one or both of their legs as a result of foot drop, and each has overcome their limited mobility with an orthotic device made by Allard USA.
The members of TeamUP are: Beth Deloria, Greensboro, North Carolina; Barbie Barnett, Naperville, Illinois; Craig Vogtsberger, Traverse City, Michigan; Darren Smith, Camas, Washington; Jill Walsh, Jamesville, New York; Rod Fulmer, McDonough, Georgia; Shannon Poortenga, Kalamazoo, Michigan; and Virginia Mamone, Las Vegas, Nevada. Members were selected from around the country. They will be competing in marathons as well as biking, running, and golfing events. TeamUP will also be attending other awareness events throughout the year, educating and inspiring others to “Get Back Up” after adversity, regardless of condition or circumstance.
