Colorado-based nonprofit organization, No Barriers USA, is partnering with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, researcher Hugh Herr, PhD, to establish the No Barriers Boston Fund, to provide athletic prosthetic limbs to individuals who sustained amputations in the Boston Marathon bombings.

“These aren’t the passive prosthetic limbs we’re used to thinking of,” said No Barriers Executive Director Dave Shurna. “It’s where science fiction meets reality.”
