The Touch Bionics Newburgh, New York, facility was significantly damaged in a June 29 fire. The building, at 606 Broadway, is home to Touch Bionics’ livingskin operations. The 3,200-sq.-ft. space sustained heavy smoke and fire damage, although some of the materials may be salvageable, a local fire official told the Times Herald-Record. Nobody was in the unit when the fire broke out, and the cause is under investigation.
In January 2013, Touch Bionics opened a new facility at 610 Broadway to expand the company’s workspace in Newburgh.
