The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced that the Region 5 Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) contract has been awarded to Connolly, headquartered in Wilton, Connecticut. This contract is national in scope, and includes Medicare claims for durable medical equipment and home health and hospice.
According to CMS, the award marks the beginning of the new RAC contracts and is the start of the implementation of improvements to reduce provider burden and increase transparency in the program.
