LIM Innovations, San Francisco, has received a $50,000 grant to develop modular and adjustable prosthetic sockets for pediatric patients. The seed funding was awarded at the second annual National Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation (NCC-PDI) competition. NCC-PDI is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration-funded consortium whose business model and approach to device development results in, or substantially contributes to, market approval of medical devices designed specifically for use in children.
