Freedom Innovations, Irvine, California, announced that its board of directors has appointed David A. Smith as chairman and CEO. Maynard Carkhuff, the former board chair and CEO, will assume the role of vice chairman and chief innovation officer (CIO) and will chair the board’s technology and product portfolio committee.
Smith, a senior healthcare executive, most recently served as partner of Health Evolution Partners, San Francisco.
