Three employees of RSLSteeper, Leeds, England, won awards at the joint International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) conference and Trent International Prosthetic Symposium, held September 28-30, in Glasgow, Scotland.
Marta Geada, a Steeper prosthetist at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, England, was awarded the Limbless Association Prize for the best paper presentation for her discussion of patterns of bony deformity following transtibial amputation due to septicemia. Lynzy Holding and Ian Talbot, Steeper prosthetists at the Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool, England, won the Sam Gallop Comfort Socket Prize for their paper on a three-layer silicone socket design for people with lower-limb amputations.
“We are immensely proud of Marta, Lynzy, and Ian. These prestigious awards are difficult to obtain,” said Mark Davies, rehabilitation services director at Steeper. “Their achievements demonstrate how highly valuable these individuals are to our industry and their peers and shows just how well they have presented their work.”
