OneStep, a digital healthcare platform, is partnering with NovaCare Prosthetics & Orthotics to use the OneStep gait analysis app to monitor and track patients’ gait progression during their O&P care. OneStep’s Food and Drug Administration-listed tool uses smartphone motion sensors to provide immediate feedback on gait and mobility. It can measure variable cadence, stride length, step length, step asymmetry, and hip range of motion, offer objective assessment of walking capabilities with prosthetic devices, and pinpoint areas for further intervention.
“This technology enables our prosthetists and orthotists to make data-driven clinical decisions, enhancing the effectiveness of our interventions and providing a clear roadmap for each patient’s mobility journey,” said Stephen Mantegani, NovaCare’s vice president of operations. NovaCare is part of the Select Medical Outpatient Division family of brands and has 17 facilities across seven states.
“Our partnership with NovaCare Prosthetics & Orthotics is a milestone in utilizing technology to advance gait analysis and patient mobility in the O&P field. By offering a way to objectively track gait parameters over time, we’re not just improving clinical outcomes; we’re enhancing the quality of life for patients navigating their care journeys,” said OneStep CEO Tomer Shussman.
