Reimbursement codes

Paul Mathewson

All,

I have developed an orthopedic device designed to resist rotation in a joint
(see Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics 15:1 2003 for description). It is
constructed from fabric only and has no hard structural elements. I am not
very familiar with L-code particulars, but many seem to have hinges, struts
or other rigid components. Can anyone provide guidance about whether there
might be an L-code which could be used for an all-fabric device which has a
functional bracing capability? Is there a person who is familiar with the
L-code world with whom I could have a conversation? Also, what distinguishes
an L-code from an A-code.

Thanks very much.

Paul Mathewson, Ph.D.
