Correction – Amputee Coalition Celebration at the 42nd Annual Academy Meeting

George Gondo

Hello everyone,

The date in my original email was not correct. The Coalition’s celebration is Thursday March 10th. This has been corrected below.

2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the Amputee Coalition. During this time, our organization has made a significant contribution to improving the lives of individuals affected by limb loss. We have served millions of individuals with limb loss, their families, and caregivers through our National Limb Loss Resource Center, National Peer Support Program, Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp, National Conference, Limb Loss Education Day events, and our patient education materials. We have led advocacy efforts to pass Insurance Fairness (aka Prosthetic Parity) legislation in more than 28 states, include prosthetics in the Essential Health Benefits set, end the one limb per life limit in the state of New York, and reworking Medicare’s Local Coverage Determination for lower limb prosthetic devices, among others.

To celebrate this significant milestone in the organization, we are hosting a party to help us to continue these efforts at the upcoming 42nd Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists on Thursday March 10th from 6:30 – 8:30pm in the Atrium Lobby of the Caribe Royale. More information is available on our website – http://www.amputee-coalition.org/events-programs/academy-celebration/

Come join us in celebrating 30 years of empowering the limb loss community.

Cheers,
George Gondo, MA
