We have had a very busy year in terms of rescue operations from disasters.
Our DART team was positioned in Gautier Mississippi and then moved to
Waveland Mississippi. We provide basic needs and comfort for rescuers and
animals that get rescued. It is not a fun or glamorous job, in fact, most of
the time you spend doing cleaning cages and animals, bathing them, feeding
them (or feeding other rescuers), and emptying the sewer holding tanks. We
also have to locate fuel, water, and food sources near us. It is labeled a
“Logistical Nightmare”.
My fellow rescuers have nicknamed me the “Disaster Master”. I’m not entirely
sure how to take it, but their smiling when they say it.
I want to public ally say thank you for all of the donations that folks sent
in to help us. We get no government money at all and completely self fund
our efforts. My personal goal is to have the best DART team in the country.
