We get several request each year from people that want to volunteer at
our facility to either see if they like the field or to get experience
to apply for O&P school. Does anyone have experience or suggestions as
far as volunteers working in our labs. Is there any type of liability
involved?
If there is no pay involved they would not be covered under workman’s
comp for an injury.
Is there a waiver to have them sign?
Does our insurance cover this, or if they are university students are
they automatically covered?
Any other comments?
