The Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists (AAOP) announced organizational changes to its board of directors, including Executive Director Rich Butchko’s retirement.
Due to financial constraints, the chapter elected to eliminate the executive director position and to distribute the responsibilities of that position to board members. The board also voted to hire a third party to help organize and assist with its spring meetings. Clinical Education Concepts will help coordinate the meetings and oversee and update the chapter’s website.
The Ohio Chapter AAOP had previously cancelled its 2020 spring meeting due to the pandemic, and because of the continued uncertainty, the board decided to have a virtual spring 2021 meeting instead of an in-person meeting.
Going forward, the organization will continue to develop a virtual education platform in conjunction with regular in-person meetings, according to the announcement by John Brandt, CPO, president.
