To use the app, practitioners select one or more appropriate measures from the library, administer the test or tests, and can immediately receive the results as a printable/exportable PDF document to inform evidence-based clinical care and to include in the patient’s electronic health record. The app’s outcome measure library can be expanded, and clinicians can submit additional measures for inclusion by contacting Orthocare Innovations at [email protected]. Users can save patient profiles in a password-protected database within the app that is compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. When locked, patient information remains redacted.
Orthocare Innovations, the developers of P&O COMET, worked closely with the LLPR team to verify and test that the COMET app exports the files properly and provides the accepted information. Orthocare does not track users who install and use the app. However, it plans to expand the app to include secure cloud capabilities, which will require registration with the cloud system and therefore require users to share their information.
