Ottobock, Duderstadt, Germany, appointed Güngör Kara as its new chief digital officer (CDO). He will report to CEO Philipp Schulte-Noelle. Sarik Weber, who was Ottobock’s first CDO since May 2018, will remain active in an advisory capacity.
Kara was the previous CDO at EOS Electro Optical Systems, an industrial 3D-manufacturing company. He will work with Ottobock CIO Heiko Reinhard, who will focus on the company’s IT transformation. Kara holds an international executive master’s degree in business administration and a degree in mechanical engineering.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to further develop the company’s digital strategy and to contribute my skills from the start-up scene, industrial 3D printing, and industry 4.0 to Ottobock’s sustainable growth strategy,” Kara said.
