Ottobock opened a new production center and a global shared services center in Sofia, Bulgaria, creating 100 new jobs. Ottobock has invested close to 22 million euro ($23.5 million) in Bulgaria, providing employment to over 300 people, the Bulgarian economy ministry said in a press release.
The company considers Bulgaria a key part of its future strategic plans due to available high-tech resources and highly skilled talent, said Ottobock COO Arne Joern.
Ottobock is backed by Swedish private equity firm EQT. Ottobock generated turnover of $1.07 billion in 2022, with over 9,000 employees in 60 countries worldwide.
