Two reviewers were awarded the Prosthetics and Orthotics International (POI) Elite Reviewer Award during the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) World Congress Virtual Edition.
Daniel Heitzmann, Dipl. Ing. (FH), and Goeran Fiedler, PhD, were recognized for their work in reviewing articles for publication in POI.
The journal relies on its 23 associate editors and many reviewers, said David Boone, editor in chief. In 2021, POI has received nearly 330 manuscripts for consideration for publication and has used more than 730 reviewers to read articles, Boone said.
Heitzmann said it was an honor to be recognized. “It is my hope that this award continues to encourage other scholars to continue to review articles regularly as this is an essential part of scholarly exchange and discourse,” he said.
Heitzmann and Fiedler were recognized Wednesday during the 18th ISPO World Congress Virtual Edition, which continues through Thursday, November 4.
