Adria “Nikki” Twyman was well on her way to building a successful and thriving full-service hair salon in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the early 2000s.
One of the services she offered was giving haircuts and styles to people who were sick, elderly, or physically unable to leave their homes. “My salon had stairs, which made it difficult for wheelchair users,” she says.
