Amputee Coalition named Emma Faxon as the recipient of the 2026 Christina Skoski, MD, Scholarship.
Faxon, who has a transradial amputation, has built a record of personal leadership and academic achievement. She helped establish a robotics club at her high school, earning first place in Tennessee’s SkillsUSA Interactive Application and Video Game Design competition. Faxon placed fourth nationally with her team, received recognition as a National Merit Scholar honoree, and graduated as salutatorian of her class.
“As an amputee from birth, I have chosen a mindset of being challenged rather than limited by my amputation,” she said. “This scholarship will allow me to continue my educational pursuit of becoming an electrical engineer with a focus on mechatronics with less financial stress while showing the world that amputees can achieve whatever goals we set our minds toward.”
This fall, Faxon will attend Tennessee Technological University, where she plans to pursue a degree in electrical engineering.
