Dralla Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2011 by Peter Allard, president of Allard USA, Rockaway, New Jersey, announced that its 2017 grant recipients are Adaptive Sports Foundation, Catalyst Sports, Common Ground Outdoor Adventures, Jett Foundation, Kinetic Kids, Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, and World T.E.A.M. Sports.Â

The funds will be used to host events that begin in July and will run through March 2018. They include two bike camps, one will teach the participants to ride a traditional bicycle and the other camp will teach participants to ride a balance bike; a day of adaptive athletics where participants will have an opportunity to try cycling, power soccer, and golf with adaptive equipment; an outdoor adventure where children and teens with physical challenges work with able-bodied teammates/coaches in activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and water sports; a race that pairs children who have physical challenges with able-bodied athletes to compete in a ski and snowboard race; a day of adaptive cycling and archery that takes place during an overnight camp; and a trip to a water park where the participants will be free of assistive devices and will learn basic swim and safety techniques.
The next grant cycle begins in December. The submission deadline is February 1, 2018, and the awards will be announced in May 2018.
