The Dralla Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2011 by Allard USA, Rockaway, New Jersey, announced that its 2016 grant recipients are Adaptive Sports Foundation, Catalyst Sports, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, Kinetic Kids, STRIDE Adaptive Sports, and World T.E.A.M. Sports.
The funds will be used to host events that began in June and will run through March 2017. They include two bike camps where, upon completion, the participants are able to independently ride a traditional bicycle; a day of athletics where the participants will have an opportunity to try kayaking, cycling and climbing using adaptive equipment; an outdoor adventure where children and teens with physical challenges work with able-bodied teammates and coaches in activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and water sports; a race that pairs children who have physical challenges with able-bodied athletes to compete together in a ski and snowboard race; and an event that starts out as a treasure hunt, moves on to a fun day at an aquarium, and ends with a beach party.
